God Ganesha : Most Lucky God

Author: hemant khandekar

All Tantric and spiritual worship in the Hindu tradition begins with the invocation of Ganesha (or Ganesh), the elephant-headed god. Every shubh (good) work when started, worship of god ganesh begins first. Hindus, dedicated to God ganesha, also celebrate a special festival. Ganesha Chaturthi or Ganesha Festival is a day on which Lord Ganesha, the son of Shiva and Parvati, is believed to bestow his presence on earth for all his devotees. On this day, marble god statue of lord ganesha are being washed and scented. They are decorated and worshiped. In some parts of India like Maharashtra, this festival continues for 10 days.

Ganesha became the Lord (Isha) of all existing beings (Gana) after winning a contest from his brother Kartikay. When given the task to race around the universe, Ganesha did not start the race like Kartikay did, but simply walked around Shiva and Parvati, both his father and mother as the source of all existence.

Many stories describe how Ganesha got the elephant head. One tells how Parvati created Ganesha in absence of Shiva to guard her quarters. When Shiva wanted to see her Ganesha forbid it, at which point Shiva cut of his head. Later Shiva restored Ganesha to life and provided him with the head of an elephant, because no other was available. In another story, Ganesha's head is burned to ashes when Saturn is forced by Parvati to look at her child and bless him.

Ganesha rides a rat that represents the subjugated demon of vanity and impertinence. The conch represents the sound that creates Akash. The laddu (sweet) represents Sattva. The snakes represent control over the poisons of the passions and refer to Shiva, father of Ganesha. The hatchet cuts away the bondage of desires. The mudra grants fearlessness. The broken tusk is the one with which Ganesha wrote the Mahabaratha.

Acceptance of the somewhat funny looking elephant man Ganesha as the divine force stills the rational mind and it's doubts, forcing one to look beyond outer appearances. Thus Ganesha creates the faith to remove all obstacles. Meditation on the Ganesha Yantra creates internal balance.

Putting ganesha marble statues at the top of the front door and inside the home fills the full environment with a positive energy and good luck, as trusted by the Hindus. Although people of other religions also do the same, to bring good luck at their homes.

    • not yet,
But I met a Juggalo that had Juggalo tattooed on the inside of his bottom lip.

      Gotta love our crazy family!!

      nice generalization eric,
a samrt person wouldn’t sterio type,
I’ve seen meth ruin too many lives, never have touched that sh*t and never will,

      oh,…. and I’m a juggalo.

  1. Can someone answer my questions about henna tattoos?
Do you they really hurt more than a real tattoo?
    How long do they last?
When they go away, do you see a mark, or outline of the henna?
How much does it usually cost for something small, mainly black, with a few drips of red?
I’m trying to get the hatchet man, will it turn out terrible? (Please, no BAD REMARKS on ICP)

    • No they do not hurt at all, its a paste that stains your skin.
They last anywhere from days to weeks. They are temporary.
They fade away and there is no mark or outline, but it may be a little splotchy as it fades depending if its really big (like a full hand) and the ‘traffic’ of the area.
Im not sure of cost, but it is SOOOO much cheaper if you do it your self and follow templates off the internet.
Avoid black henna (read up on it and you’ll see what i mean)…’regular’ henna (the paste is a dark green brown) when it peels off is a lovely rusty red/orange colour.
Henna is very safe, I buy the powder and mix up my own all the time and decorate my hands and feet with it.

      Have fun!!

  2. Tattoo like the hatchet man..?
If you google the image “Hatchet Man Tattoo” I was looking for that but with the man playing an instrument downwards while his hair sticks up. Can anyone find me that image?

    • My son has that tattoo, but he’s carrying the hatchet. I did a search for that but it didn’t come up. Take a picture of the hatchet man to your tattoo artist and explain the changes you want. A good tattoo artist can design your tattoo to your liking.

    • If you want it, go for it! I would suggest though getting it under the hip bone and off to the side a bit. If you get it closer to your stomach, if you ever become pregnant, it will stretch out.

      Good luck!

  3. Should I add words under my tattoo?
I want the words juggalo under my hatchet man tattoo. And n the other wrist I want a hatchet lady and the word juggalette :o I’m just wondering if I should add words or just pictures… Nasty comments are welcome too! :D I really just need ideas ahahaha
